The International Formnext trade fair – the leading global exhibition and conference on additive manufacturing and the next generation of intelligent industrial production – took place from 19th till 22nd of November in Frankfurt, Germany. Experts from a wide range of industry sectors, such as automotive, aerospace, mechanical engineering, medical technology, electrical engineering, and many more, came together to discover additive manufacturing, 3D scanning, and innovative production technologies for themselves.
This event was a great opportunity for the worldwide market launch of SMARTTECH3D new 3D scanner – MICRON3D green stereo 9-9MPix. This Optical Measurement Machine features high-resolution stereoscopic system cameras (9MPix) and an innovative measurement method using narrow-band green light bidirectional fringe projection on the measured object. This measurement technology together with the use of appropriate filters minimizes the impact of external lighting on accuracy measurement allowing the system to be used directly on production.
The system is characterized by high accuracy – up to 10 μm, and measurement repeatability which results from both introduced hardware innovations as well innovative measuring method.
The MICRON3D green stereo 9-9MPix scanner is dedicated mainly to the industrial sector and thanks to its properties it is ideally tailored for quality control or reverse engineering.
Each system comes with a mobile workstation and column stand complemented by SMARTTECH3Dmeasure software. The software has been designed to support smooth work with over 300 million measurement points and enables carrying out a fully automated quality control process as well as automatic creation of ready-to-print 3D models.
