SMARTTECH was founded in 2000 by a group of scientists and researchers from the Warsaw University of Technology under the direction of prof. Dr. hab. Małgorzata Kujawińska, who is also an inventor of technology.

From the very beginning, the company was focused on collecting 3D data using the method of measuring structural light.
